Cabinets and cases cut, jointed and finished by hand. Solid timber, traditional joinery, restrained inlay and marquetry where it earns its place.
Tramp Audio is a small UK workshop sharing one bench between two trades. We take in old amplifiers, rebuild them around honest woodwork and considered electronics, and return them voiced by ear.
The cabinet and the circuit are designed for each other, not bolted together at the end. We agree on the whole amplifier before either of us picks up a tool.

Restoration, point-to-point wiring and voicing. A preference for quiet ground schemes, generous filtering, and listening before measuring.
Every commission starts from the donor, the player and the room. Pick a channel to see how we approach it.
Custom builds.
New amplifiers designed around a player, a room, or a record. Donor chassis welcome. Voicing decided together, not by spec sheet.
A commission follows the signal — input to output. Each stage is a decision made together, not a stage-gate you tick.

We listen first. What you have, what you want, what you'd play through it.
We're new. The first amplifiers are on the bench. As each is finished it will be photographed and documented here — donor, design, cabinet, circuit, voicing notes.
No. 001 is on the bench. Five spaces remain.
Tell us about the donor, the player, the sound. We'll come back personally with questions, a sketch and a place on the bench.
